YARDCOM, Scape, and SAOTA Explore the Art of Outdoor Living at UNFOLD YARDCOM at UNFOLD: Exploring the Art of Outdoor Living

JUN 20, 2025

On 13 June 2025, YARDCOM, Scape, and SAOTA hosted an exclusive design gathering at Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, under the theme UNFOLD. The event brought together 75 architects, designers, and landscape professionals from leading firms including dhk, Peerutin Karol, Clinton Savage, and GSQUARED to explore how thoughtful design can shape the experience of outdoor living.

The gathering celebrated the interplay between architecture and nature, bringing YARDCOM's vision of refined outdoor living to life. Introducing the brand to guests, Managing Director Damon Ma remarked, "Luxury homes today are not just about what's inside. They are about what happens beyond the walls. YARDCOM is here to truly ignite those feelings with products that reflect and belong in their environment." The brand's approach combines architectural clarity, comfort, and a focus on sustainable materials.

At the heart of UNFOLD was a series of design dialogues, with five design voices responding to prompts ranging from "pause" to "transition" and "creation." These conversations explored different perspectives on the outdoor realm and the relationship between design, nature, and human experience. "For me, working with nature is about observation," said Franchesca Watson. "Nature isn't static. It's about listening to nature and listening to your intuition, listening to how design makes you feel."

By inviting guests to engage with all five senses, the event highlighted a central idea: outdoor design is not simply something to look at, but something to experience.
